When the warm and sunny September day arrived, The Warren Estate in Danbury, Essex, became the backdrop for Emma & Pete’s beautiful wedding with a vintage 1940s theme. The vibrant colours of burnt orange, teal, and natural hues set the tone for a day filled with love and nostalgia.
Bridal Bouquets and Bridesmaids’ Blooms
For the bride and adult bridesmaids, dried flower bouquets were the order of the day. I was so happy with how beautiful these bouquets were, dried flowers were medium I hadn’t worked with for a while and I loved every minute spent carefully crafting them by hand. The choice of dried flowers, including canary grass, bunny tails, pampas, dried cow parsley, and wheat, added a rustic charm to the bridal party’s attire. Each bouquet was a testament to the couple’s commitment to sustainability and their desire to create a wedding that left a minimal environmental footprint.
The burnt orange, teal, and natural colours intertwined beautifully. The bride’s bouquet was a true centrepiece, and her bridesmaids’ bouquets complemented her perfectly.

Flower Crowns and Wands for the Flower Girls
As a heart-warming touch, the flower girls, who are Emma and Pete’s daughters, were adorned with flower crowns and wands made from the same dried flowers. These pretty accessories, along with their beautiful dresses made the young flower girls look like little princesses.

Buttonhole Flowers for the Groom and Groomsmen
The groom and groomsmen sported buttonhole flowers made from the same dried flowers as the bouquets. These little accents brought a pop of colour to the gentlemen’s attire and tied the entire bridal party together.

Unique Dried Flower Displays for the Ceremony Area
The ceremony area was transformed into a vision of vintage elegance with unique dried flower displays. The burnt orange, teal, and natural color palette carried through, creating a cohesive theme throughout the wedding. The choice of dried flowers allowed the couple to achieve their desired aesthetic while staying true to their values of sustainability.

Dried Flower Table Centrepieces
To add a personal touch to the reception, the couple created their own table centrepieces using a selection of vintage props gathered themselves over the months before the wedding. We added small vases filled with dried flowers to give height and compliment the pieces on show. These beautiful displays not only added to the vintage theme but also showcased the couple’s creativity. The guests were treated to a visual feast as they sat down to enjoy the festivities.
