A Dreamy Dusky Pink and Sage Wedding at Apton Hall: Floral Creations for a Perfect Day

Weddings. There’s something magical about them, isn’t there? I feel so lucky to be involved in such a wonderful industry, hearing couple’s stories of how they met and how one of them popped the question is one of my favourite things! I recently had the pleasure of designing the floral arrangements for a beautiful wedding at Apton Hall in Rochford, and I just had to share the experience with you.

The couple opted for a dreamy colour scheme of dusky pink and sage, which set the tone for a romantic and elegant day. For the bride and her bridesmaids, we created loose, natural-style bouquets featuring Faith roses, astilbe, eryngium, eucalyptus, bombastic spray roses, avalanche roses, and wax flower. The combination of these blooms resulted in stunning bouquets that perfectly complemented the bridesmaids’ dresses and added a touch of whimsy to the bridal look.

The ceremony was held outside in Apton Hall’s picturesque courtyard. The couple exchanged their vows under the venue’s charming gazebo, which we adorned with a lush floral garland. This garland included hydrangea, roses, and a variety of foliage, creating a beautiful backdrop for such an important moment.

One of the most unique and charming aspects of this wedding was the incorporation of two large floral arrangements in vintage milk churns. A nod to Apton Hall’s farm setting, these churns framed the couple beautifully as they said their vows. Thanks to a dear friend who owns a dairy farm, I was able to borrow two genuine vintage milk churns, adding an authentic rustic touch. These arrangements later found a second life at the wedding breakfast, positioned at either end of the top table.

Speaking of the wedding breakfast, the tables were a true reflection of the couple’s style. We decorated them with birch log slices, each holding clusters of flowers in assorted glass jars and bottles. To add a personal touch, each table featured at least one gin bottle as a flower vessel, a playful nod to the couple’s love of G&T. I love it when we can add little details like this to bring the couple’s personalities into the décor.

Apton Hall’s rustic style chandeliers also got a floral makeover. We decorated them with sprigs of eucalyptus in different varieties, adding a fresh, green element to the venue’s warm and inviting ambiance.

Looking back on this beautiful day, I’m reminded of why I love what I do. Creating floral designs that reflect a couple’s unique style and enhance the beauty of their special day is truly rewarding. Apton Hall, with its blend of rustic charm and elegance, provided the perfect backdrop for this dusky pink and sage wedding, and I feel so grateful to have been a part of it.

Here’s to more beautiful weddings and unforgettable moments! If you’re planning your own special day and need some floral inspiration, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to help make your floral dreams come true.

Until next time, Katy x
